Artist Guest of Honor Charles Vess

 Charles Vess is an award winning artist who has been drawing fantasy art for decades.  His most notable work is the illustrated edition of Stardust with Neil Gaiman and several issues of the Sandman.  He’s done illustrations for many anthologies and books for authors such as Charles de Lint, George R. R. Martin, and Susanna Clarke.  Released in December 2009 by Dark Horse Comics is Drawing Down the  Moon: The Art of Charlse Vess.  You can preview the entire book on the Dark Horse web site here and get a good idea of what Charles has done so far in his career.

Charles has recently collaborated with Neil Gaiman for the picture book Blueberry Girl, released earlier this year, and the upcoming Instructions, being released next March.  He has also done the art for the upcoming anthology The Beastly Bride: Tales of the Animal People edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling.BeastlyBridebookcover
