Participant Spotlight – Mark Greenawalt

One of the more popular art demonstrations is Mark Greenawalt’s body painting.

Mark has been doing demos at local science fiction cons and events for a while, a gallery of which can be found on his website. The results of Mark’s previous demos at past LepreCon’s can be seen on his website (which are generally NSFW!);

LepreCon 36 - Cyborg, LepreCon 33 – Female Stormtrooper, LepreCon 32 - Heinlein Cover and  Sith Twi’lek, LepreCon 31 - Villikon Chronicles, LepreCon 30 – Lifecasting/Bodypainting, LepreCon 29 – Villokon Chronicles, and LepreCon 28 – Mark’s first SF Convention.

To give you an idea of what Mark actually does during his demo, he recently did a Day of the Dead piece for Noise Art Space in Scottsdale.  They videotaped the process and made a time lapse video of it (which is SFW).

LepreCon 37 – One Month Out

We’re now officially one month out from the start of LepreCon 37 on May 6 (although we will be having some activities on Thursday, May 5 for pre-reg members).

We’ve been getting regular updates made to the website, especially in the programming area with both programming items being added and updated and additional participants being added.  We’ve also got an updated gaming schedule with 50+ events scheduled and more being added.  We’re working hard to make sure that LepreCon lives up to the “Best of Phoenix” award we got for last year’s convention, LepreCon 36,  and to make it a fun and entertaining weekend for all of our members.

This year we’ve got more space for programming and gaming that we’ve had the last few LepreCons but we’re still going to be the kind of event where you can easily hang out with the guests and have the intimate experience our regular attendees expect from a LepreCon convention.

We’ll be posting regular articles to highlight some of the events, activities, participants, and groups that will be part of LepreCon 37, so keep checking back here on a regular basis over the next few weeks.
