Artists in the Art Gallery

Chaz Kemp

Bram Stoker Award finalist Chaz Kemp embraces an Art Nouveau style that incorporates vibrancy and color scheme into fantasy and steampunk art in a way that is rarely seen. As an illustrator, the influence of Alphonse Mucha & Ivan Bilibin is evident in his award winning work that combines the artistic energy of the Roaring 20s with the untamed possibilities of steampunk and fantasy.

Gilead

Gilead is an Arizona artisan who specializes in fantasy and science fiction paintings with a classic pulp impression, often using recycled materials like scrap wood as his canvas. His unique style has been featured in magazines, books, role playing games, and in murals throughout the Valley.

In addition to his incredible fine art, Gilead is also the creator of a popular series of fantasy themed coloring books called Gilead’s Goblinz, Dragonz, Alienz, Faeriez, and Wild Animalz.

Gilead’s art can be seen at Scottsdale’s Method Gallery, and you can often find him at pop culture and art events across the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Dain Q Gore

Dain Q Gore’s figural narrative art is pulled from the inexorable vortex of the theology and cosmology of his youth, of Baptism briskly steeped in doom and redemption. The messages never truly deviate; however, the imagery is obliged to throw in a twist that makes it uncertain as to how the story should really be told.

His most current investigations include merging paintings with his interest in puppetry, which refer to a childhood fascination with Bible stories told through puppets and their illusion of a subjectively formed, artificial reality. This began with a solo show in 2014 at Hot Box gallery, The ECSTATIC TRUTH.

The puppets and wall pieces are not just flat: they are built up in puzzle-like pieces that include kinetic and dimensional features. The choice of material is reflective of the beliefs that still haunt me: impermanent, fragile, ever-changing, and not altogether full in form.
