Because of the July 4th festivities in and around the City of Tempe, several downtown streets will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. on
Sunday, July 5.
. Mill Avenue between Curry Road/Washington Street and Rio Salado Parkway will be closed in both directions from 6 a.m. July
4 until 2 a.m. July 5.
. Mill Avenue between Rio Salado Parkway and 5th Street will close in both directions from approximately noon July 4 until
2 a.m. July 5.
. Mill Avenue between 5th Street and University Drive will close in both directions from approximately 4 p.m. July 4 until 2 a.m.
July 5.
. Rio Salado Parkway between Hardy Drive and the access to Hayden Ferry Parking garage, located just east of Mill Avenue,
will be closed in both directions from 9 a.m. July 4 until 2 a.m. July 5. Access will be provided to the Tempe Center for
the Arts via Priest Drive to Rio Salado Parkway. Access to the SunCor/Hayden's Ferry developments will be provided via
Scottsdale Road to Rio Salado Parkway.
. 5th Street between Ash and Forest avenues will be closed in both directions from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. July 4. Local access will
be maintained from Ash and Forest avenues.
. Eastbound Rio Salado Parkway between Priest Drive and Hardy Drive will be closed from 8:30 until 11 p.m. July 4.
. Northbound Rural Road between University Drive and Rio Salado Parkway will be closed from 8:30 until 11 p.m. July 4
. Southbound Scottsdale Road between Curry Road and 6th Street will be closed from 8:30 until 11 p.m. July 4.
. Veterans Way/5th Street will be closed in both directions between College Avenue and University Drive from 8:30 until
11 p.m. July 4.
. 5th Street will be closed in both directions between Forest and College avenues from 8:30 until 11 p.m. July 4.
. The Loop 202 off-ramps at Scottsdale Road will be closed from 8:30 until 11 p.m. July 4
As a reminder, extended bus and light rail service will be offered for $1.75 per trip, per person to the festivities. Or, purchase an all-day pass for $3.50 at the start of your day. Reduced all-day passes are available for $1.75 for children, people age 65 and older and people with disabilities. Light rail trains will run every 15 minutes between 6 a.m. July 4 and 2 a.m. July 5. Residents are encouraged to park at one of the following light rail
park-and-ride locations to ride the train:
